Janet Jonker is an Occupational Therapist who graduated with an honours degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pretoria in 2018. She has been working in the field of paediatrics for the past five years, and she is passionate about helping children in any way she can.

She completed her community service year at Zeerust Hospital in 2019, and thereafter worked and volunteered as an Occupational Therapist at LIV Village for three years prior to joining our practice (2020-2022). LIV Village is a large home for vulnerable and orphaned children in Verulam, Durban. This gave her an amazing opportunity to work with and help children with a variety of complex needs.

She has completed the following post-graduate training to become more specialised in the field of paediatrics: Introduction to Neurodevelopmental Treatment by SANDTA, Introduction to DIR Floortime by Spotlight, and she recently acquired her Award in Literacy and Dyslexia by Bellavista S.H.A.R.E. This enables her to treat children with dyslexia / severe reading and spelling difficulties. She is in the process of becoming Sensory Integration trained as well.
